Hawks trade Barry to Rockets

ATLANTA, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Atlanta and Houston traded guards Thursday -- Jon Barry going to the Rockets and Tyronn Lue to the Hawks.

Barry, in his 13th season, has seen little playing time since signing with Atlanta prior to the season. Lue will be playing for his fourth team in three years, having come to Houston from Orlando.

"This was done because of the development of our young players -- Josh Childress, Josh Smith and Royal Ivey," said Atlanta General Manager Billy Knight. "We didn't feel like there would be a lot of playing time for Jon at that shooting guard position."
