COL BKB: Maryland 90, Florida St 88 (OT)

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- John Gilchrist hit two foul shots with 6.6 seconds left in overtime Sunday to give No. 19 Maryland a 90-88 win over Florida State.

Gilchrist had 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists for the Terrapins (6-2, 1-0 ACC), who have won two straight games and three of their last four. Chris McCray added 14 points for Maryland.

Adam Waleskowski had 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Seminoles (5-5, 0-1), who have lost two of their last three. Al Thorton added 16 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

In overtime, Florida State scored the initial four points to go ahead 84-80. But a steal and a dunk by D.J. Strawberry with 2:11 left capped a five-point surge and gave Maryland an 85-84 lead.
