EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The Toronto Raptors traded Vince Carter to New Jersey Friday for three players and two draft picks.
New Jersey sent Alonzo Mourning, Eric Williams and Aaron Williams to the Raptors.
Carter, who is nursing a strained Achilles' tendon and is on the injured list, will join Jason Kidd and give the Nets two legitimate superstars in their starting line.
Carter is averaging 23.4 points in this, his seventh NBA season.
Mourning has also been out of action since Dec. 7 with, among other things, a sinus infection. His career appeared to be over last season when he underwent a kidney transplant.
He returned to action this season, but has made it clear he would like to be traded.
Aaron Williams will be playing for his seventh team in an 11-year career.
