MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett and Wally Szczerbiak keyed a run to open the third quarter Friday night, sending Minnesota to a 113-86 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Szczerbiak had a season-high 29 points and Garnett had 28 with 10 rebounds.

Minnesota led by eight at halftime and then started the third quarter with a 15-6 run. Garnett and Szczerbiak scored all but two of the points in the spurt.

Minnesota's Latrell Sprewell suffered an injury to his left foot early in the game and did not return.
