NBA: New York 86, New Orleans 79

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- A 22-point effort from Stephon Marbury Wednesday night helped New York end a three-game losing streak with an 86-79 decision over New Orleans.

Kurt Thomas added 16 and Nazr Mohammed had 14 as the Knicks won on the road for the first time this season.

New Orleans has only one victory all year and owns the NBA's worst record at 1-16.

Lee Nailon and Dan Dickau both scored 17 for the Hornets.

New Orleans owned as much as a 24-point lead in the third quarter.
