COL BKB: Texas 86, North Texas 57

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Brad Buckman had 18 points, seven rebounds and seven blocked shots Tuesday night as the 13th-ranked Texas Longhorns posted an 86-57 victory over North Texas.

It was the fourth straight win for the Longhorns (6-1).

Leonard Hopkins scored 13 points to lead North Texas (3-3), which has dropped two straight following a two-game winning streak.

The Longhorns jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the opening five minutes of the first half. The Mean Green had a 9-4 run to get within 10 at 21-11 and stayed within that margin near the end of the half when Calvin Watson's three-pointer made it 34-24 in favor of the Longhorns at the three minute mark.
