COL BKB: Iowa State 81, Virginia 79

AMES, Iowa, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Curtis Stinson, who scored 30 points, hit a 3-pointer with 18.6 seconds remaining Monday while leading Iowa State to an 81-79 win over No. 19 Virginia.

Stinson was two shy of his career high on 10-for-19 shooting, including 5-of-6 in 3-pointers.

Jared Homan added 14 points for the Cyclones (4-1), who got only their second win ever against ACC opponents.

Devin Smith accounted for more than half of Virginia's scoring with 40 points for the previously unbeaten Cavaliers (6-1).
