
TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Bucs, seeking to keep their playoff chance intact, shut out the division-leading Atlanta Falcons, 27-0. Sunday.
Brian Griese passed for 131 yards and a touchdown, Michael Pittman ran for 68 yards and a touchdown, Joey Galloway caught four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown, and Jay Taylor kicked two field goals as Tampa (5-7) got its fifth win in its last eight games after an 0-4 start.
Taylor, who took over the kicking duties after the Bucs released veteran Martin Gramatica on Tuesday, had field goals of 50 and 30 yards.
The Bucs defense forced five Atlanta turnovers.
Michael Vick completed 13 of 27 passe for 115 yards with two interceptions for the Falcons (9-3), who would have clinched the NFC South with a win.
Vick was also sacked five times and had four turnovers, but did rush for 81 yards as the Falcons' four-game winning streak ended.
