Pennington back at QB for Jets

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Chad Pennington, who missed three games with an arm injury, will start at quarterback Sunday for the New York Jets.

Coach Herman Edwards said Friday Pennington will be ready to play against the Houston Texans at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J.

"Hopefully, it will give us some adrenaline and excitement but we still have to execute on offense and defense," Edwards said. "We still have to win a game. One player is not going to win a game for you."

Pennington injured his throwing arm in a loss to Buffalo. The Jets beat Cleveland and Arizona and lost to Baltimore while he was out.

Quincy Carter played quarterback in Pennington's absence.

Quincy did a great job for us," Edwards said.
