COL FB: Louisville 70, Cincinnati 7

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Kolby Smith and Montrell Jones each scored three touchdowns Saturday as eighth-ranked Louisville romped to a 70-7 victory over Cincinnati.

Smith had 71 rushing yards on only five carries while Jones, who also scored on a 72-yard punt return, had three catches for 57 yards and two receiving TDs for the Cardinals (9-1, 7-0 Conference USA), who have won five straight games since losing to No, 9 Miami (Fla.) on Oct. 14.

Eric Shelton added 158 rushing yards and a touchdown on only 10 carries while Michael Bush added in 106 on the ground for Louisville, which totaled 355 yards rushing.

The Cardinals, who won their conference, will likely be heading to the Liberty Bowl.

Collin Carey, filling in for injured starter Gino Guidugli, was only 4-of-13 for 18 yards with an interception for the Bearcats (6-5, 5-3), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
