Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
STARKVILLE, Miss., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Lawrence Roberts had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists Sunday to lead No. 14 Mississippi State to a 98-69 win over Nicholls State.
It was the first triple-double in Mississippi State's history.
Winsome Frazier scored 13 points for the Bulldogs (4-1), who played their first home game of the season.
Stefan Blaszczynksi scored 21 points for the Colonels (0-1), who played in their season opener under new Coach J.P. Piper. Former Coach Ricky Blanton resigned in the preseason, citing personal reasons.
The Bulldogs led 37-29 at halftime, but had a 61-point second half.
