COL BKB: Alabama 85, North Texas 71

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Chuck Davis had 25 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots Sunday to lead 18th-ranked Alabama to an 85-71 victory over North Texas.

Earnest Shelton added 17 points for the Crimson Tide. Alabama (2-0_could play as many as five games in nine days to open the season if its stays alive at the Great Alaska Shootout.

Leonard Hopkins scored 19 points for the losing Mean Green (1-1).

The Crimson Tide had a 44-28 lead at intermission, but allowed North Texas to get back into the game midway through the second half.
