COL BKB: Notre Dame 66, Harvard 59

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Quinn scored 20 points Friday night as 21st-ranked Notre Dame began its 100th basketball season with a 66-59 victory over Harvard.

Chris Thomas added 17 to help the Irish open a 43-27 lead at the break. Harvard, however, began the second half with a 27-12 surge that allowed the Crimson to get within one.

Harvard eventually tied the game at 57-57, but Notre Dame never fell behind. The Irish went on a 9-2 run to end the game.

Harvard was past by Brian Cusworth with 15 points and 13 rebounds. The Crimson outshot Notre Dame, 46 percent to 35.
