EAST LANSING, Mich., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A balanced scoring effort led by Kelvin Torbert's 21 points Friday night carried No. 10 Michigan State to a 104-72 win over Florida A&M.

Maurice Ager added 20, Shannon Brown had 18 and Chris Hill 14 for the Spartans, who won their season opener for the 28th consecutive season.

Michigan State began the contest with a 16-2 run en route to a 60-27 halftime lead. The Spartans hit 70 percent of their shots from the field in the opening half.
