DePaul signs Bruno through 2011

CHICAGO, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- DePaul University announced Tuesday it has extended the contract of women's basketball Coach Doug Bruno through 2011.

Bruno begins his 19th season as coach of the Blue Demons in the Moran Realty Classic at the DePaul Athletic Center this weekend.

"We are proud of what we have achieved so far at DePaul," Bruno said. "We also know the job is not finished. We look forward to continuing to pound away at moving DePaul up the women's college basketball food chain."

Bruno's record at DePaul is 322-205. His teams have reached the NCAA Tournament nine times.

The Blue Demons have won 45 of 62 games the past two seasons.
