Bears linebacker out with leg injury

LAKE FOREST, Ill., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher learned Monday he will be sidelined four-to-six weeks because of a lower left leg injury.

Urlacher hurt the leg during Sunday's 19-17 overtime win at Tennessee. He underwent surgery Monday morning after some internal bleeding was discovered.

Urlacher, 26, had started 64 straight regular-season contests since becoming starting middle linebacker in the third week of the 2000 campaign.

He aggravated a hamstring injury during practice and was forced to sit out games on Sept. 26 versus Minnesota and Oct. 3 against Philadelphia.

He suffered a right hamstring pull on July 28, the first day of practice at training camp, and missed all four preseason contests.
