JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A 36-yard touchdown pass from David Garrard to Jimmy Smith gave Jacksonville a 23-17 win over the Detroit Lions in overtime Sunday.
Garrard, playing in place of the injured Byron Leftwich, passed for 198 yards and also tossed a scoring pass to LaBrandon Toefield.

Fred Taylor ran for 144 yards for Jacksonville, 6-3, and Greg Jones added a touchdown run.
Detroit's Eddie Drummond returned two punts for scores -- one from 83 yards and the other from 55.
The Lions are 4-5.
