NEW YORK, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Quarterbacks Michael Vick of Atlanta and Drew Brees of San Diego were among players earning NFL Player of the Week honors Wednesday.

Vick was named top NFC offensive player. He was 18-of-24 for 252 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons' 41-28 win at Denver. He also had 12 carries for 115 rushing yards. It was the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career, tying an NFL record for quarterbacks.

Brees, earning his first weekly award, won the AFC honor on offense. He was 22-of-25 for 285 yards and five touchdowns in the Chargers' 42-14 rout of Oakland.

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter and Buffalo Bills return specialist Terrence McGee were named for defense and special teams in the AFC.

Their NFC counterparts were Chicago linebacker Brian Urlacher and New York Giants wide receiver David Tyree.
