COL FB: Tennessee 43, South Carolina 29

COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Erik Ainge threw for 109 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as 12th-ranked Tennessee slipped past South Carolina 43-29.

The Volunteers improved to 7-1, 5-1 SEC and have won the last 12 meetings between the two schools.

Cedric Houston added 190 yards rushing and one touchdown for Tennessee.

Dondrial Pinkins, who was intercepted twice, was 30-of-42 passing for 306 yards and two scores for the Gamecocks, who fell to 5-3, 3-3 SEC with their second loss in the last three games.

Tennessee has won four straight overall since its only loss to Auburn on Oct. 2.
