No. 1 USC visits Washington State

PULLMAN, Wash., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Southern California will attempt to protect its No. 1 ranking Saturday when it travels to Washington State.

The Trojans are unbeaten in seven games and if they remain unbeaten for the rest of the season, they are a virtual cinch to participate in the national championship game.

No. 2 Oklahoma will also be on the road Saturday, taking on Oklahoma State. The Sooners bounced back from two straight losses to the Cowboys with a home win last year. But this will be the first of two straight challenges for Oklahoma, which will visit Texas A&M next week.

Elsewhere in the top 10 Saturday, No. 3 Miami will be at North Carolina, No. 4 Auburn will visit Mississippi, No. 5 Florida State will travel to Maryland, No. 7 Georgia hosts Florida, No. 8 California will be at home against Arizona State, No. 9 Texas will go to Colorado and No. 10 Utah will be at San Diego State.
