Clijsters, Hewitt break up, cancel wedding

BRUSSELS, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Tennis stars Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt have canceled their wedding plans, Clijsters says.

"Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt jointly decided to put an end to their relationship for private reasons," Clijsters Web site said Friday. "The announced wedding has been canceled as well."

The two players, both formerly ranked No. 1 in the world, had planned to marry in February in Australia. Hewitt is an Australian, Clijsters is from Belgium.
