Terry Price of Australia and Johan Edfors of Sweden each shot 66 and shared second place.

Clement is trying to keep his tour card after missing eight straight cuts.

"I just came here to prepare for the Q school, but now I guess I might have a chance of keeping my card," Clement said.

"I had a very bad season. I progressed a little bit. My game is better I guess. For the moment I don't think about it. We'll see maybe on Sunday."

Eight players were tied for fourth: Jesus Maria Arruti, Peter Fowler, Trevor Immelman, Nick O'Hern, Brian Davis, Paul Broadhurst, Bradley Dredge and Darren Fichardt.
