LONDON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Rising Formula One star Jenson Button was ordered to drive for the BAR-Honda team next year, even though he has signed a contract with Williams/BMW.

Button was with BAR this year, but said there was a loophole in his contract that allowed him to leave that team and sign with another one.

BAR filed a complaint with Formula One's Contract Recognition Board (CRB), which ruled in the team's favor.

"I'm delighted to confirm that we just received the official notification that the CRB have ruled in our favor," said BAR team manager David Richards said.

BAR-Honda finished second this year in the manufacturers' championship. Button is third in the driver's point standings behind Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello.
