Carolina running back out at least 6 weeks

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Running back DeShaun Foster of the Carolina Panthers learned Monday he is expected to miss at least six weeks with a broken left collarbone.

Foster was hurt during Sunday's game against Denver when he collided with linebacker Al Wilson in the second quarter. The 24-year-old ran five times for 18 yards before leaving the game.

Carolina is already without top running back Stephen Davis, who was inactive for the third consecutive game due to a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery after the team's season-opening loss to Green Bay on Sept. 13.

Panthers Coach John Fox said Davis will remain day-to-day as the team prepares for this Sunday's game with Philadelphia.
