MLB: Atlanta 6, Houston 5

HOUSTON, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- J.D. Drew extended Atlanta's season Sunday by driving in the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Braves rallied to down Houston, 6-5.

The outcome forced a fifth and final game in their National League Division Series, one that will be played in Atlanta Monday.

Thanks to a five-inning effort by Roger Clemens, who was working on three days' rest, Houston appeared headed for its first series triumph ever. The Astros, however, let the lead get away and lost at home for the first time in 20 games.

Clemens left with a 5-2 advantage, but with Chad Qualls on the mound for Houston, Adam LaRoche hit a three-run homer in the sixth to tie it.

The game remained deadlocked until the ninth. With two away, Russ Springer hit Rafael Furcal with a pitch. Furcal stole second and scored on Drew's single to center.

Houston put runners on first and third with one out in the bottom of the ninth, but Jeff Kent ended the game by grounding into a double play off John Smoltz.

The Astros also stranded a runner at third in the eighth.
