Davenport wins when Mauresmo retires

FILDERSTADT, Germany, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Lindsay Davenport of the United States won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix tournament in Germany Sunday when Amelie Mauresmo retired with a leg injury.

Davenport won the first set 6-2 and then claimed her seventh title of the year when Mauresmo, of France, stopped play.

The American also won the Porsce event in 2001.
