Nall now Packers' primary backup QB

GREEN BAY, Wis., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Craig Nall, who has thrown just one NFL pass, is now the main backup to Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre.

Nall moves up to replace Doug Pederson, ho cracked a bone in his back and broke a rib Sunday against the New York Giants.

On Thursday, the Packers put the 36-year-old Pederson on injured reserve, meaning his season has ended.

Favre suffered a concussion in the same game, which Green Bay lost 14-7, but he is expected to start Monday against Tennessee.

Nall entered Giants' game for the final play after Pederson was hurt and tossed one pass for 24 yards.

Nall led NFL Europe in touchdown passes last year.

J.T. O'Sullivan, acquired on Monday in a trade this week, will be the Packers' No. 3 quarterback.
