MLB: Cleveland 5, Minnesota 2 (2nd game)

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Cliff Lee worked seven innings Sunday while leading the Cleveland Indians to a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Earlier Sunday, Michael Cuddyer's two-out RBI double in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted the Twins to a 6-5 victory over Cleveland in the completion of Saturday's suspended game.

The two clubs played the first 11 innings to a 5-5 tie Saturday. They were unable to finish because the stadium had to be converted for an evening college football game.

The Twins needed to beat Cleveland twice and then have Oakland defeat Anaheim in order to host Boston in the first round of the AL playoffs beginning Tuesday. Instead, Minnesota will travel to New York to take on the Yankees.

Kyle Lohse (9-13) started after picking up the victory in Sunday's first game with a scoreless inning of relief. In this one, he lasted just five innings.
