MLB: Arizona 4, San Diego 1

PHOENIX, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Brandon Webb (7-16) gave up one run in seven innings and Doug DeVore hit a two-run homer Sunday as Arizona defeated San Diego, 4-1.

Arizona finished 51-111 -- the worst record in team history.

Juan Brito and Robby Hammock hit solo homers for the Diamondbacks, who closed out the campaign winning just four of their last 12.

David Wells (12-8) allowed four runs on six hits in five innings to take the loss. Freddy Guzman ended 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Padres, who dropped four of six to end the season.
