Fred Funk holds one-shot lead

MADISON, Miss., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Fred Funk shot an 8-under 64 Saturday for a 16-under 200 and a one-stroke lead through three rounds of the Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

Steve Pate, who shared the lead entering round three with Harrison Frazar, had a 69 to share second place with Chris Couch (68) at 15-under 201.

Greg Chalmers (67), Kevin Na (66) and John Senden (69) are one stroke further back.

"I made a lot of birdies today and one eagle," Funk said. "I finally hit the fairway on five and I got rewarded today as I made eagle. Obviously everyone is making lots of birdies so you have to get as many as you can. I still have to go low on Sunday to have a chance at winning this."

Kirk Triplett fired a seven-under 65 to jump to 13-under 203 and share seventh place with Pat Bates, J.J. Henry, Ryan Palmer, Carl Pettersson and Loren Roberts.
