MLB: Atlanta 6, N.Y. Mets 3

ATLANTA, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Braves scored four runs in the seventh inning Wednesday and beat the New York Mets 6-3.

Marcus Giles slammed a two-run triple during the rally and the Braves went on to their fourth win in five games.

Adam LaRoche hit a home run for Atlanta.

Russ Ortiz (15-9) was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and two runs in seven innings. John Smoltz notched his 43rd save.

The win was the 2,000th for Bobby Cox" class="tpstyle">Atlanta Manager Bobby Cox.
