DALLAS, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The MetroStars became the second team in the Eastern Conference to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs, defeating the Dallas Burn 2-0 Saturday.

John Wolyniec scored in the 30th minute for the MetroStars, and Cornell Glen added a late insurance goal.

Burn midfielder Oscar Pareja slipped a through ball to Eddie Johnson, but goalkeeper Jonny Walker snuffed it out.

The Burn pushed forward, but couldn't create a real threat to the Metros goal and despite winning nine corner kicks, the Burn did not put a single shot on goal during the second half.
