MIAMI, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The Miami-Pittsburgh NFL game Sunday has been postponed because of Hurricane Jeanne.

The game has not yet been rescheduled but the teams could play as early as Monday night, depending on the weather.

"After conferring with local authorities and the NFL, in the best interest of public safety, it was decided that under no circumstances will the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers be played on Sunday afternoon," Dolphins President Eddie Jones said Saturday.

The Steelers were in Florida to prepare for the contest.
