MLB: Seattle 8, Texas 7

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Randy Winn's infield single in the ninth inning drove in the go-ahead run Friday night as Seattle outlasted Texas, 7-6.

Texas, which began the night two games behind division-leading Oakland in the American League West, had a five-game winning streak snapped.

Winn went three for six and drove in two runs in helping Seattle to its third straight victory. Ichiro Suzuki had two hits to move within eight of the single season record of 257 set by George Sisler.

Texas will face Seattle five more times during the remainder of the season with the other four games coming against Anaheim.
