PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb and his wife, Roxi, Thursday became parents of a baby girl, WCAU-TV, Philadelphia, reported.

Roxi gave birth to Alexis at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, N.J., officials said.

Eagles spokesman Rich Berg confirmed the birth and delivered a statement from McNabb that said in part: "Both mother and daughter are doing fine. I am fine, too, certainly very proud and excited."

McNabb said he can now concentrate on what his team must to defeat the Detroit Lions this week.

The McNabbs met at Syracuse University, where they were both student-athletes, and married in June 2003.
