TUCSON, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Mike Allen's 23-yard field goal provided the winning margin Saturday as 20th-ranked Wisconsin escaped an upset with a 9-7 victory over Arizona.
Sophomore Booker Stanley gained 135 yards on 30 carries and scored a touchdown for Wisconsin (3-0).
The go-ahead field goal came with 4:32 left in the contest and capped a 16-play, 72-yard march that took 7:26 off the clock. Owen Daniels made a juggling catch in traffic on a fourth-and-five play near Arizona's 30-yard line with 6 1/2 minutes left to keep the drive alive.
On the ensuing possession, the Wildcats (1-2) drove quickly into Wisconsin territory but the drive stalled and Nick Folk missed wide lift on a potential game-winning 48-yard field goal. Folk had missed a 43-yarder earlier in the game.
