CINCINNATI, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Derrek Lee doubled, homered and drove in five runs Friday night to power the Chicago Cubs to a 12-4 victory over Cincinnati.
Carlos Zambrano worked seven innings to help the Cubs in their battle for the National League wild card berth. Chicago began the night a half game behind San Francisco in the race for the league's fourth playoff spot.

Chicago has won five straight and seven of its last eight.
Zambrano (14-8) gave up one run on six hits while Lee tied a career best with his 31st homer. That blast gave the Cubs a 6-0 lead in the fifth.
