MLB: Baltimore 9, Toronto 5

TORONTO, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Melvin Mora had two hits and three RBI Thursday night to help carry Baltimore to a 9-5 win over Baltimore.

Reliever B.J. Ryan worked his way out of a bases-loaded, none-out jam in the seventh as the Orioles preserved their third win in eight games.

Baltimore had a 7-3 lead going into the seventh, but starter Rodrigo Lopez and Jason Grimsley allowed the first four batters to reach base.

Ryan came on and got Carlos Delgado to pop out to first. Alexis Rios then struck out and Eric Hinske grounded out.

Lopez (13-8) got the win, giving up four runs on nine hits with four strikeouts.

Baltimore's Rafael Palmeiro hit the 547th homer of his career, moving him within one of Mike Schmidt for 10th on the all-time list.
