Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
CLEVELAND, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Dmitri Young went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and five RBI Tuesday to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 11-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
Jason Smith, Omar Infante and Brandon Inge each hit a solo homer for the Tigers, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Jeremy Bonderman (10-11) allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings to get the win.
Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer and Ron Belliard added an RBI for the Indians, who have dropped three straight.
Kyle Denny (0-1), making his major league debut, worked 3 1/3 innings to take the loss. He allowed eight runs on 10 hits.
