MLB: Atlanta 9, Montreal 8 (12 innings)

ATLANTA, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones had an RBI double in the bottom of the 12th inning Sunday to give the Atlanta Braves a 9-8 victory over the Montreal Expos.

Rafael Furcal had three hits, including a solo homer, for the Braves. Jones, Chipper Jones and Eddie Perez also added solo homers in the win. Perez was 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Jose Capellan made his major league debut, but did not get a decision as Atlanta's bullpen blew the lead. The 23-year-old allowed two runs on four hits over five innings.

Tony Batista hit a two-run homer and had three RBI, while Terrmel Sledge added a solo shot and also drove in three runs for the Expos.

Tony Armas Jr. gave up five runs on five hits in only 3 2/3 innings of work for Montreal, but was let off the hook with a late rally.
