MLB: Tampa Bay 8, Kansas City 6

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Jose Cruz's sacrifice fly broke a seventh-inning tie Saturday and Tampa Bay ended a 12-game losing streak with an 8-6 win over Kansas City.

Julio Lugo was 3-for-5 with two RBI and scored three runs for Tampa Bay, which posted its first win since beating Seattle Aug. 25. Rocco Baldelli hit a two-run homer for the Devil Rays.

Rob Bell (7-8) won after allowing two runs on four hits in three innings. Danys Baez worked a scoreless ninth to nail down his 26th save.

John Buck had three hits and homered for the Royals, who have dropped two of three.
