
DENVER, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Clint Barmes and Matt Holliday each had three RBI Saturday as the Colorado Rockies beat up on the San Diego Padres, 13-2.
Garrett Atkins hit his first career homer for the Rockies, who have won seven of their last 10. Every starting position player had a hit for Colorado, which totaled 18.
Jeff Francis (2-2) allowed two runs on five hits in five innings to earn the win.
Khalil Greene had two home runs for the Padres, who have dropped three of five.
Adam Eaton (9-13) allowed seven runs on 12 hits in five innings to take the loss.
The Padres grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Greene led off the game with a homer.
Colorado evened the contest in the home half of the first and then took the lead for good with three runs in the third frame.
