MANHATTAN, Kan., Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Dwayne Wright gained 74 yards on 26 carries Saturday to lead Fresno State (2-0) to a 45-21 rout of 14th-ranked Kansas State.
Quarterback Paul Pinegar had a pair of touchdown passes for the Bulldogs, who dominated the Wildcats (1-1) from the outset.
Wright, who also caught three passes for 65 yards, may have suffered a season-ending knee injury late in the contest. He was hurt at the end of a long pass reception.
KSU, which suffered its worst home loss in nearly a decade, got two interceptions from Bret Jones, who returned one of them for a touchdown.
Heisman Trophy candidate Darren Sproles was held to 37 yards rushing on 11 carries.
