LONDON, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Olympic gold medal sprinter Darren Campbell has demanded an on-air BBC apology over comments made by former sprint champ Michael Johnson.
Johnson, the American sprinting legend turned broadcaster, said he thought Campbell had feigned a hamstring injury when he was eliminated from the 200-meter semi-finals.

Despite what was described as a hamstring tear, Campbell came back to run a leg of the gold medal-winning men's 4x100 meter relay race in which the British upset the American team.
Campbell called Johnson's remarks "disgraceful" and threatened a lawsuit if no apology was forthcoming, the Guardian said.
