KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 5 (UPI) -- The Kansas City Wizards defeated the MetroStars 1-0 Saturday night at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

Josh Wolff scored the winning goal -- his eighth of the season. Davy Arnaud fed Matt Taylor, positioned at the top right of the Metro's box, as Taylor looked to fire but passed to Jose Burciaga Jr. who received the pass and struck a shot on goal that Walker parried Wolff, who dove the ball in the net.

The determined MetroStars had two good scoring attempts with a shot by Tim Regan and toe poke by Fabain Taylor, but they could not beat goalkeeper Bo Oshoniyi.

The Wizards also learned its reigning MVP Preki is done for the season because he needs surgery to tighten up his left ankle that was injured during the preseason.
