MLB: Minnesota 4, Kansas City 3

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Terry Tiffee's leadoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday gave the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 win over Kansas City.

The homer was the first for Tiffee as a major leaguer. He batted 3-for-4 as the American League Central Division-leading Twins ran their latest win streak to five.

Minnesota's other runs came on a three-run homer by Justin Morneau.

J.C. Romero (6-1) got the win in relief.

Dee Brown hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run for the Royals, who have lost seven of nine.
