MLS: Chicago 3, Kansas City 1

CHICAGO, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The Chicago Fire picked up three critical points Wednesday night with a 3-1 victory over Kansas City.

Justin Mapp and Andy Williams both had a goal and two assists while Craig Capano finished things off with his first MLS goal.

Chicago moved into fourth place in the Eastern Conference with the victory, two points ahead of New England and one behind third place D.C. United.

Kansas City remained in a first place tie in the Western Conference with Los Angeles.
