MLB: Seattle 7, Toronto 5

TORONTO, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Dan Wilson singled to snap an eighth-inning tie Tuesday and give the Seattle Mariners a 7-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Scott Atchison (2-2) pitched 1 1/3 innings to earn the victory for the Mariners, who have won five straight. J.J. Putz retired one batter in the ninth to nail down his sixth save of the season.

Ichiro Suzuki was 3-for-5 with two RBI and Jose Lopez added a three-run homer in the win.

With the score tied 5-5, the Mariners scored two runs in the eighth. Bucky Jacobsen had a one-out double off loser Kerry Lightenberg (1-6). He was replaced by pinch-runner Willie Bloomquist. After Jolbert Cabrera walked, Bloomquist stole third and scored on Wilson's single. One out later, Ichiro added an RBI single.

Carlos Delgado hit a two-run homer and Eric Hinske a solo shot for the Blue Jays.
