MLB: Boston 10, Anaheim 7

BOSTON, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Curt Schilling pitched 7 2/3 innings and Manny Ramirez hit two home runs Tuesday to lead the Boston red Sox to a 10-7 win over the Anaheim Angeles.

Schilling (17-6) allowed three runs on nine hits for Boston, which has won seven straight, 13 of 14, and 19 of its last 23.

Ramirez hit a solo homer and added a three-run shot for the Red Sox, who now hold a one game edge on Anaheim in the wild card race. Boston trails the New York Yankees, who fell Tuesday night, by 3 1/2 games for AL East lead.

Dave Roberts was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the win.

John Lackey (11-11) gave up four runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings to absorb the loss.

Alfredo Amezaga hit a grand slam for the Angels in the setback.
