MLB: St. Louis 6, Pittsburgh 4

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Reggie Sanders hit a three-run homer and Jim Edmonds added a two-run homer to power the St. Louis Cardinals over the Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday, 6-4.

Matt Morris (14-8) worked the first six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits to earn the win. The Cardinals have won five of their last seven games.

Jason Isringhausen had a perfect ninth for his 38th save of the season.

Sanders and Edmonds, who hit is 36th home run, each ended with two hits as the Cardinals continue to improve on the best record in the majors.

Jason Bay and Tike Redman hit back-to-back homers in the fourth to provide the offense for the Pirates, who have dropped two straight and four of six. Bay ended 2-for-3 with a two-run shot.

Loser Nelson Figueroa (0-1), was making his second start of the season, allowed five runs on six hits in four innings.
